Fellmark (“we”, “our”, or “us”) explains here how we handle personal information when you use our mobile app,
website, and related services (together, the “Service”). This policy should be read alongside our
Terms of Service.
Who we are
The Service is operated by Fellmark. We are based in the United Kingdom. For privacy questions or requests,
contact contact@fellmark.app.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Fellmark, we may process:
Account and contact details — when you sign in (e.g. via Clerk), we receive identifiers,
email address, and profile information you provide (such as name and profile image).
Location and sensor data — with your permission, we collect precise GPS locations and time
while you record or view activities, including in the background when recording is active. Where available, we
may use barometric pressure to improve elevation estimates. This is used to draw your route, stats, and maps;
we do not use it for advertising or “tracking” as defined by Apple for App Tracking Transparency.
Photos and media — images you capture or attach, and audio for voice notes, plus any
metadata you associate with them (e.g. position along a route).
Speech processing — with permission, on-device speech recognition may be used to
transcribe voice notes. Transcripts may be stored with your activity data.
Activity content — route geometry, timestamps, elevation-related values, notes, peaks you
select, and similar data you create in the app.
Device and sync identifiers — e.g. app installation or device identifiers used to sync your
data reliably across devices and to secure the Service.
Diagnostics — if enabled, crash reports and performance data via Sentry to fix bugs and improve
stability. We avoid sending secrets or raw tokens in reports.
Invitations — if someone invites you by email, we process that address to deliver the invite
and show pending invitations when you are signed in with a matching email.
Purchase status — subscription entitlement state via RevenueCat and the app stores (we do not
receive your full payment card number; payments are handled by Apple or Google).
How we use information
Provide, sync, and back up your activities and media.
Authenticate you and secure the Service.
Send operational emails (e.g. invitations you trigger); we do not send marketing newsletters unless you opt in.
Improve reliability and fix errors (including diagnostics).
Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security,
product improvement, limited analytics that are not intrusive), and consent where required (e.g. certain
permissions on your device).
Processors and third-party services
We use service providers who process data on our instructions, including:
Clerk — authentication and user profiles.
Cloudflare — API hosting, database (D1), object storage (R2), and edge networking.
Mapbox — map display and related map services in the app.
RevenueCat — in-app purchase and subscription status.
Sentry — error and performance monitoring (EU-hosted ingest where configured).
Resend — transactional email for invitations.
GeoNames — optional geographic or peak name lookups where configured.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for third-party behavioural advertising.
Retention
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After you delete your
account, we remove your data from live systems within a reasonable period; residual copies in backups may persist
for a limited time before automatic expiry. Tombstoned or deleted activity data may be purged from servers on a
schedule (e.g. after several months) as described in our technical operations.
Your choices and rights
You can manage many permissions in your device settings. You may request access, correction, export, or
deletion of personal data subject to applicable law.
Account deletion: In the app, open Account →
Delete account and cloud data. Alternatively, see
Delete your account or email
contact@fellmark.app from your account email.
EEA/UK users may lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. California residents may exercise CCPA rights
as described below.
California residents (CCPA summary)
We disclose the categories of personal information above. We do not sell personal information. You may request
access or deletion as described in “Your choices and rights”.
International transfers
We and our processors may process data in the UK, EEA, US, and other countries. Where required, we use
appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for transfers from the EEA/UK.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly
collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data. No method of transmission
or storage is 100% secure.
Changes
We may update this policy; the “Updated” date will change. Material changes may be communicated through the app or
by email where appropriate.
